Global Suppliers Target West Africa as Demand, Investment and Infrastructure Increase
As demand continues to rise across West Africa’s food and beverage sector, December highlighted the market fundamentals driving international interest in the region. Industry insights underscored Ghana’s $2 billion food import market, where population growth, urbanisation and changing consumption habits continue to fuel strong demand for imported food and beverage products, creating clear opportunities for international suppliers.
Nigeria also remained in focus, reinforcing its position as Africa’s largest soft drinks market. High consumption levels, a youthful population and extensive distribution networks continue to drive growth across non-alcoholic beverages, making Nigeria a key entry point for brands targeting West Africa.
Further strengthening confidence in the market, PepsiCo and DP World’s $20 million investment in Nigeria highlighted a growing shift toward localised production and improved logistics infrastructure, reinforcing West Africa’s long-term potential as a food and beverage growth hub.
Alongside these market developments, FAB West Africa continues to see strong international exhibitor interest. The sales team has confirmed new exhibitors including FreshTokri Foods (Egypt), ESBEE Trading LLC (UAE), Hexagon Spirits International (Poland) and Reh Kendermann GmbH Weinkellerei (Germany), representing a broad mix of food manufacturing, spirits, beverages and international trade.
These confirmations reflect continued confidence in FAB West Africa as the leading platform for international suppliers seeking to connect with importers, distributors and buyers across the ECOWAS region.
